FURNITURE SALES REPRESENTATIVE – SHOWROOM

FT – On Site. Shifts: Tue-Fri, 10am – 6pm; Sat 11am – 5pm; Sun-Mon OFF

Location : NYC – Manhattan

For our client, a prestigious Made-in-Italy furniture brand and showroom , we are looking for a passionate and experienced Furniture Sales Representative . Established in 1956, the brand is celebrated for its elegant, functional, and sustainable collections, offering both residential and office solutions. The showroom provides a sophisticated environment for design professionals and discerning clients to explore the best in contemporary Italian furniture.

Position Overview:

This individual will play a pivotal role in providing exceptional service to our customers, ensuring they are guided through the sales process with expertise and care. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the retail furniture/lighting industry, a deep understanding of Italian design, and the ability to communicate product features with both technical and aesthetic clarity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide outstanding customer service by assisting clients in selecting furniture that aligns with their needs, aesthetic preferences, and functional requirements.
  • Guide clients through the entire sales process , from product selection to post-purchase support, ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the collection, the Made-in-Italy furniture industry, and emerging design trends.
  • Collaborate with the showroom team to ensure effective visual merchandising and product displays.
  • Build and nurture relationships with both new and existing clients to drive sales and repeat business.
  • Proactively reach out to architects, designers, and other professionals in the design industry to build partnerships and attract new business.
  • Develop and maintain a network of local and national industry contacts to expand the showroom’s visibility and reach within the design community.
  • Stay updated on industry developments, competitive products, and market demands to provide valuable insights to the team.
  • Assist in the showroom’s operational tasks, including inventory management and ensuring the showroom remains impeccably presented.
  • Participate in showroom events, client meetings, and trade shows to promote the brand and the showroom’s offerings.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the retail furniture/lighting industry, ideally within high-end or luxury markets.
  • Strong knowledge of the Made-in-Italy design industry and the Italian furniture sector.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage customers and provide personalized design solutions.
  • A keen eye for design and the ability to visualize and recommend interior design solutions.
  • A passion for high-quality craftsmanship and contemporary furniture design.
  • Strong sales skills with a customer-centric approach and a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced showroom environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with design software is a plus.

Education & Experience:

  • A background in interior design, architecture, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience working in a luxury furniture showroom or similar sales/design position.
