Post-doctoral position in antibody discovery at Applied Biomedical Science Institute (ABS)

A postdoctoral fellowship is available in Dr. Vaughn Smider’s lab the field of novel antibody discovery and engineering. The candidate will have experience in cell culture, PCR, cloning, transfection/transformation and antibody purification, and a demonstrated record of high quality science in peer-reviewed publications. Phage display and bioinformatics skills, as well as protein purification skills, are desireable as well. The ability to work within a team and communicate well are essential. The position is a two-year commitment and funded by Eli Lilly’s LRAP (Lilly Research Award Program). The research program will involve close collaboration between ABS and Lilly scientists. Research will occur at the Applied Biomedical Science Institute as well as at Eli Lilly’s facilities in San Diego. 

We are a small but dynamic Institute, and are very invested in mentoring individuals so that they can develop both scientifically and professionally. Training in antibody science through our postdoctoral fellowship program will be particularly marketable for future academic or industry careers. 

The Applied Biomedical Science Institute performs basic biomedical research and early-stage therapeutic discovery and development with an emphasis on immunology and oncology, and technology development. The Institute has several collaborations with innovative biotechnology companies as well as cutting-edge internal projects.
