Landscape Project Manager, Irrigation

This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company's locations: Driftwood Golf and Ranch Club, set outside of Austin, TX. Driftwood Golf and Ranch Club is seeking a Landscape Project Manager, Irrigation to join the Landscape Department. The Landscape Project Manager, Irrigation plays a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of high-end landscape projects with a primary focus on irrigation. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, design, installation, and maintenance of irrigation systems for high-end landscape projects when applicable.
  • Attend all daily planning meetings and spearhead scheduling needs that are related to irrigation. Ability to schedule with purpose and clear deadlines.
  • Lead and manage the landscape team as applicable.
  • Conduct detailed irrigation audits to assess system efficiency, identify issues and implement improvements. Repairs must be completed within a proper time frame, ideally within one to two business days. The irrigation controller must be checked and repaired in a timely manner.
  • Ensure irrigation systems are designed for optimal plant health, water conservation, and sustainability.
  • Manage monthly irrigation budgets.
  • Maintain irrigation parts inventory.
  • Delegate and coordinate crews, delegating tasks as appropriate. Ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to industry and Driftwood landscape standards.
  • Conduct regular site visits of residential homes, club amenities, HOA and COA common areas and new installations.
  • Effectively communicate with residents, vendors and team members to align on project expectations and deliverables.
  • Train and mentor crew members, fostering a culture of accountability, efficiency, and growth.
  • Proactively identify potential issues, address them swiftly, and seek assistance when needed to prevent project delays.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, technology, and best practices to enhance irrigation system performance and efficiency.
  • Assist with the landscape mechanic schedule and standard operating procedures. Communicate information related to tasks and projects that will impact service within other departments. Keep all work areas orderly and neat. Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Certification in irrigation management or related fields are preferred.
  • Proven experience in landscape project management, preferably within a residential or hospitality environment.
  • Extensive experience in landscape project management, with a primary focus on irrigation systems.
  • Strong attention to detail in planning, execution, and evaluations or irrigation projects.
  • Proficiency in conducting irrigation audits and implementing corrective measures.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, train and motivate teams effectively.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and ability to operate vehicles properly and safely.
  • Familiarity with HOA regulations, zoning laws, and environmental standards.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools for budgeting and scheduling.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with residents, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Additional requirements include: positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members. Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred. Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
