Position Overview: The primary role of the Buyer is to order, maintain and manage appropriate levels of inventory to meet sales demand through product requisitions. Inventory Planners are responsible for maintaining and updating all relevant data within the system to ensure the business operates as efficiently as possible.

JOB EXPECTATIONS

Main Responsibilities Essential Tasks

  • Ownership of the purchase order lifecycle from creation of purchase orders to receipt of product, inclusive of vendor/due date updates, invoice matching, and quality control/returns.
  • Identify gaps in supply, communicate issues, and find creative solutions.
  • Monitor international shipping performance and adjust inventory targets appropriately.
  • Maintain MRP data, inclusive but not limited to lead times, unit sizes, minimum order quantities, and preferred vendors.
  • Analyze SKU level demand and MRP outputs to assess required needs.
  • Generate weekly reports, such as hot lists, to communicate our greatest needs to our suppliers.
  • Understand and balance production requirements/limitations; customer needs and market conditions in order to develop creative supply chain solutions.
  • Monitor and optimize SKU management process to minimize the amount of non-stock/dead-stock material.

Education and Experience

Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or technical undergraduate degree with Supply Chain focus.
  • Experience with international buying/logistics preferred.
  • Exemplary multitasking and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong analytical capability in terms of forecasting, replenishment, and MRP.
  • Strong computer/data manipulation skills.
  • High level attention to detail.
